Marisa Benoit grew up sailing along the coast of Downeast Maine, and she is excited to return to the yachting community by working in client relations for Fleet Miami. She sailed competitively at an early age, racing 420's in high school and spending summers teaching sailing at local yacht clubs. Marisa attended Yale University, where she majored in history and was a member of the Yale Varsity Sailing Team.
After graduating from Yale in 2005, Marisa worked as an analyst and consultant for a healthcare company in Boston before pursuing her Master's degree in the History of Science, Medicine and Technology at the University of Oxford in the UK. Marisa was first introduced to the yachting industry in 2008 when she worked as a second stewardess aboard M/Y Our Toy, a 120' Feadship, before joining M/Y Harle in 2009. Her time on Harle left a lasting impact, and she became part of the extended family that evolved into Fleet Miami.
Marisa left Harle in 2010 to return to Oxford to complete her doctorate in the History of Medicine. Her research focused on infertility in the early modern era, and she was lucky to return to archives in her beloved New England, learning (and living) Atlantic History over the course of her doctoral program. While at Oxford, she was a Graduate Ambassador for the Oxford Alumni Society, an enthusiastic member of the graduate community at her college, Christ Church, and she enjoyed teaching undergraduates History and the History of Medicine.
Marisa has always been happiest on the water, and she looks forward to sharing the joy of yachting with members and clients of Fleet Miami.RETURN TO CREW
