Fleet Miami announces sponsorship of DC Sail's 8th Annual Cantina Cup.  Cantina Cup serves as the annual fundraising event to help maintain DC Sails Youth Scholarship Fund.  In 2014, DC Sail issued over $50,000 in scholarship value to underserved youth in the DC area. Cantina Cup's financial support directly promotes DC Sails capacity to provide these communities and children the immense benefits of sailing and boating safety programs.  

DC Sail, as part of the National Maritime Heritage Foundation, is a community-focused sailing program. Their mission is to promote and preserve affordable educational, recreational, and competitive sailing programs for all ages in a fun and safe environment. The organization works to empower its participants in developing self-respect and sportsmanship, foster teamwork, and cultivate sailing skills and an appreciation for maritime-related activities. Their efforts also enhance the DC community by using sailing to bolster community spirit and volunteerism. With programs located in southwest Washington, D.C., they are reconnecting people of the metropolitan area with the joy of the water. Their diverse sailing experiences include opportunities for adults and youth aboard small boats as well as their 65-foot schooner. Proceeds from their programs go toward offering under-served youths the opportunity to learn to sail.

The Cantina Cup Regatta is the 8th annual event of its kind. It is an annual fundraising event for DC Sail and will take place on August 15th, 2015. The Regatta will feature local sailors from all over the mid-Atlantic region, who will converge on the Southwest Waterfront to race. There will be a full day of sailing with over 100 participants.  Food, music, and fun will also be highlights of the event, and a Cantina Cup After Party.
