Fresh from their Shark Week adventures starring in the Discovery Channel’s  “Tiger Beach,” the University of Miami Shark Tagging Team with the assistance of Seakeepers International was aboard Shredder, Fleet Miami’s East Bay ’54 to conduct research regarding the ecological effects on sharks in urban marine environment.  Heading the team was Dr. Neil Hammerschlag seen being interviewed aboard Shredder.  Graduate student Emily Nelson, manned the aft deck as she did in the “Tiger Beach” episode.  The team successfully caught and tagged sharks in the near coastal waters of Miami for the ongoing project of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami.
